The Grand City of Truce
Easily the largest, most populous, and most prosperous city in the Known World, Built around the slopes and cliffs and summits of Mount St. Alyssia. The Capital of the Dovah-Imperium and the Heart of Civilization in the Fourth Age.
Demographics
Heavily diverse and including representation of nearly every civil species in Realm with districts running gambit from the highest levels of opulence to the deepest levels of poverty.
Government
While home of the Dovah-Council, which is the highest authority in the Imperium, The City itself is Run by the Grand Houses as an Aristocratic/Oligarchal Republic.
Defences
The Walls Of Buros are two sets of 80 foot towered walls that encompass the Northern and Southern Trade City. Each Wall has five gates. The higher areas of the mountain, while lacking walls, have multiple aerial defenses and the city has numerous martial and peace keeping forces, maintaing a constant army of various ability and strength that numbers in the hundreds of thousands, ranging from the Trade City Watch to the Red Lion Guard to the Peak Knights in the higher and richer areas of Truce.
Industry & Trade
Home to numerous refineries and craftshops, many of which are confined to South Trade City District, while capable of producing it’s own manufacture goods, most luxuries come into Truce though the trade roads.
Infrastructure
Vast and Diverse, each District has different infrastructure and designs that have been built, updated, and expanded upon for nearly 3000 years.
Assets
It is said anything and everything can be found in Truce. The Rare, The Exquisite, and even the illicit if one knows where to look. The sheer number of shops and services is enough to overwhelm most newcomers.
Guilds and Factions
The Imperium Aristocrasy has influence across Truce, but has in recent decades been challenged more and more by the Trades Guilds and the more powerful denominations of the Alyssian Creed. However, a major wild-card is now being thrown into the political mix with the introduction of The Adventure Companies, which all groups see as a potential rival for influence and wealth.
History
Formally declared Capital upon the formation of the Dovah-Imperium. A rich, nearly 3000 year history has seen Truce grow from a simple meeting place to the absolute apex of political, economic, and cultural influence in the known world. The history of any one district of Truce can fill entire volumes and the City itself holds tales and secrets more numberous than even the surviving cities of the Third Age which pre-date it.
Architecture
Varied. After three thousand years of expansion and building, the styles run the gambit, although many buildings of the same era and influenced by one of the other cultures are easily recognizable. This makes Truce highly ecclectic and diverse as long time residents can often tell exactly where in the city they are just by glancing around at the style of the nearest block.
Geography
Set in a massive fertile plain bisected by numerous tributary rivers and trade roads, Truce is built around and within Mt. Saint Alyssia, a single massive mountain that dominates the center of the landmass of Realm’s Known World. The Sapphire Loch, an artificial lake takes up large portions of the western quarter of the mountain and serves as both a dock and fishing area.
Natural Resources
Ample access to foodstuffs due to immense Free-Range Farming areas around the City, Fish from Sapphire Loch, Quarry-Stone from Mount St. Alyssia, and a steady supply of Timber from the Eternal Wood, an artificial heavily enchanted and guarded forested area on the Eastern District that serves numerous purposes. The Abundance of Resources is further augmented by Truce’s place as the focal point of all Trade in the Imperium. All roads lead through Truce.
