Wyvern

Does the name Wyvern spark fear into your soul? Or alight your adventurers heart? 
Would it still do so if you found that it wasn't a dragon-like creature but a fern?
It should. 
As some of the deadliest plants in Realm-R, Wyvern is found in many places in Realm-R, such as caves and dungeons, rocky outcrops and dense forests. It needs little to no light, often preferring shaded areas, and eats almost anything. 
It will attack in various ways - using the surrounding environment. It itself doesn't move, but uses the 2 metre radius around it. Previous adventurers have tried to destroy it by digging the area around it, thereby devastating its environmental advantage - but it adapted, creating pit traps for the adventurers after their short break and caused them much trouble and broken bones. 
Within the Shifting Maze, they can hide behind stalactites, rocks etc. as well as using and creating shadows from the stones and flowers that glow.

So how do you defeat an attacking plant at range? 

• Fire. 
• Fireflowers and mature leaves of the Sparkatchling tree can act as deterrents of the fern, allowing the ferns to live while letting adventurer and creatures to pass by. Other creatures are not deterred by fireflowers and sparkatchling leaves so they still may wander into the Wyverns grasp.
