Antragon
Broods of Antragon may be found in the shifting Maze.
Antragon are math monsters with looks comprised primarily of ants and lizards. They grow to 1.2 metres tall and 3 metres in length. They have 6 legs, 2 antenae, mandibles and are covered in scales. Their bodies look like ants, with the thickness and skin of a lizard. They have two black eyes on the front of their heads, and a third eye on top of their heads.
There are multiple Queens in a single dungeon, with their children creating smaller families within certain area. For example, in the Shifting Maze of the Apothcary's Chamber (currently overseen by Master Vaneesa), numerous sections of the maze house between 3-12 Antragons in those sections. Within each of these sections, the Antragons have a particular job to complete for the Queens and egg nests.
In fact, these Antragons rarely stay in a single section and are one of the reasons for the Shifting Maze name. The Shifting maze is partially called this as it takes on the areas left over from the Antragon colony as they clear sections for food and resources. Over time, these sections of their colony are intruded by flora (such as the Wyvern or Glassic Flowers) and monsters (such as Lizastics). Thus, the dungeon size increases, and the Antragon's don't need to back-track - simply moving forwards to any of the Queens in the near vicinity.
The abdomen on an Antragon serves as a storage unit. Food and resources are swallowed, with a valve in the back of their throats that opens up a tube to the abdomen when wanting to store them. If needed for the Antragon itself, the valve keeps throat open/ tube closed.
