Realm of the mad gods

The gods have all gone mad losing the power they once had, bringing the power of gods down to the mortal realm, anyone and anything has the ability to become a god, some beings have learned about this power and have dedicated their lives to find some of this power. No one has found any powers of the gods yet but the stories are that the being who cast down the gods has hidden the powers from the mortal eye keeping them secret and making sure that it would be extremely hard to find the power since if one is not prepared to handle the power they may shatter into thousands of pieces if they are lucky. Many have split off into different places to find these powers some even resort to killing people they would hold close, this power corrupts the mind and seems to have put the world in a state of chaos. The land has dried up, froze over, or rotted away. Mosters and nature have overtaken the land all beings are hiding from creatures or are fighting back on what would be the front lines. Most hide in what is know as the underground city lit up by an ancent magic keeping the lights on but some fighting or more lively adventures like to leave the city and hunt for this power but it is rare for many who leave the city to survive long.
