Tainted
Those that are Tainted are born with Corrupt blood, which can take control of the being's Affinity, causing it to run rampant. Tainted are easier to be Cursed, as well. A Fallen being is generally no different from Corrupt, but most are severely weakened from their loss of control. If a Tainted becomes Fallen, it is comparable to death, as there is no way of returning after the loss of their former selves. In rare cases, a Dweller can form from the Tainted Essence.
Transmission & Vectors
The Corrupt blood most often develops in those born from a bloodline which has had Tainted beings within it, but the Tainted condition can also develop in those with little-to-no connection at all to other Tainted.
Causes
The general cause of the Tainted condition occurs in those whose species, or those themselves, are targeted by the Corrupt. The Corrupt blood develops during birth.
Symptoms
Those affected by the Tainted condition can easily lose control of their Affinities. If they fail to resist the condition and strengthen the control of their own Affinity, they will lose themselves to Corruption, and become Fallen. If the affected instead embraces the Corrupt blood, they can become a Fissured Corrupt. In rarer cases, those that are Tainted can have a Dweller develop within them. Tainted are easier to be Cursed as well, but cannot be distinguished from their former selves as shadows shroud their body, and their eyes retain their natural colour.
Treatment
The affected must strengthen the control of their own Affinity, and suppress the Corrupt blood. This will put a permanent stop to the Corrupt blood's curse.
History
The Tainted condition began to occur after the first Corruption outbreak within Eldoria.
