Corrupt
The Corrupt are commonly known as creatures bent on bringing the destruction of many realms. They're shrouded in black shadows, and all possess blood red eyes. Corrupt are known to be capable of taking on a near-infinite variety of forms, from common creatures such as humans, to large, strange, unknown beasts. Their sole goal is to desolate the realms they come across, and feed off of each realm's Essence as it withers. The influence of the Corrupt on a realm is known as Corruption, and the higher the Corruption in a realm, the stronger the Corrupt themselves can become when in that realm. The stronger a Corrupt is, the more Essence accumulates within them, solidifying the form they have taken while strengthening them at the same time. Due to this effect, many of the stronger Corrupt seem more of a definite creature than a shadowy figure, being able to bleed and feel pain once they have reached this state. The stronger a Corrupt is, the colder their "aura" - their presence - is.
Classes
Different forms of Corrupt each belong in different classes; the most common and generally the weakest being an unnamed class.Cursed
The touch of a powerful Corrupt - even from some that aren't Fissured - can at times afflict things with Corruption, causing them to become Cursed. Anything that is Cursed is not actually Corrupt, and is instead enveloped or controlled by the touch of Corruption. Beings who become Cursed retain their forms, but are shrouded by a thin layer of shadows, and their eyes glow with the same blood red as the actual Corrupt. They have no control over their bodies, and cannot speak out, only able to watch from the eyes of their controlled body as it does the Corrupt's bidding. If the Corrupt wield domain over unprotected land, they can also cause the land itself to become Cursed, rendering it completely unsafe until they’re driven out.Fissured
When a realm is under affected by too much Corruption, Corruption Fissures can occur. These Fissures act as gateways for the Corrupt, allowing entrance to Corrupt that are far stronger, and wield a much greater influence than their lesser kind. These Corrupt are known as Fissured Corrupt due to the way they enter realms.Dweller
A Dweller Corrupt refers to Corrupt who take refuge within the very essence of Tainted beings. They can only take form if the Tainted creature's magic has become unstable at least once, and essentially act as a second Essence of the Tainted being. Much like Defects, they tend to stray away from any Corrupt Lord's orders, but prior to becoming a true Dweller, they can be heavily influenced by the very Corruption which birthed them. Only once the Tainted creature's Essence is strengthened can a true Dweller be born, in which they will fight alongside whoever they dwell within.Defect
In rare instances, it has been known for few Corrupt to seemingly defect from the rule of their Corrupt Lord. Very few understand why they do this; whether it be from boredom, a grudge, or something else. Defects have been known to become intrigued in those who fight against the Corrupt as well. They show more emotion, and rarely harbour bloodlust unlike their own kind. Many become captivated enough toward the realm they find themselves in, that they too will fight to protect it.Lord
The Lords are the monarchs to all other Corrupt, commanding and coordinating their attacks on every realm they come across. They're stronger than Fissured Corrupt and have been known to be able to summon Fissures with ease. To face these creatures is usually considered as the end of a realm.
