Mr. Mysteries' So-True Histories Episode 23 - Exos, Exos everywhere

Hello Eager Learners! I am Mr. Mysteries, formerly of the Learned League, and this is my KARENcast series on the history of our Reality, Reality 69. Our last episode explored the nature of dimensions and dimensional pockets. This episode will focus on not only some of the species that might be originate from such places, but also extraterrestrials from our own Reality core.   While the arrival of the Myrneans and the Bulrathi were relatively public and acknowledged the world over, the vast majority of known Exos in the world actually do not come from either of those races. Most of these sentients are individuals or small groups that have found themselves isolated on Earth. There seem to be a significant number of Exos that are dealing with some form of exile, either voluntary or otherwise, from the rest of their society, although many are like the Myrneans and understand their society outside of either to be destroyed or otherwise unreachable.   A fully accurate count of the number of sentient races that have come to Earth is likely impossible to achieve, but it is known that there are at least 1200+ extraterrestrial species that currently exist on Earth, and an additional 100+ extradimensional species have also been documented. It is believed that there are few extradimensional species represented due to the increased difficulty and risk in bridging between dimensional pockets. Dimensions also tend to have radically different environments that do not support life that can exist normally in our Reality core.   Outside of the Myrneans the second most populous group of Exos would be the various demon-like and angel-like entities that have travelled here from the various "after life" dimensions. The motives and plans of these individuals is, of course, widely varied, but in general it seems that the majority of them are attempting to advance the directives and objectives of their particular Knight-Lord. More that 2000 individuals self-identified in this category in the last US census, and it is believed that there are roughly 5000 individuals that would meet this criteria world-wide.   It is worth noting that the majority of the Exos currently on Earth are at least mostly Human in appearance and almost all of them are humanoid in shape. One notable exception to this is the small colony of the Corpocrusians in North Africa. Corpocrusians are an insectoid-like species that is a six-limbed creature with a tough, sandy-yellow exoskeleton. Its hind legs are the most powerful, used for walking, running, and leaping. The four forward limbs each have a hand with three fingers and an opposable thumb. Corposcusian heads has two large eyes, two antennae, and a small-but-powerful jaw. The jaws work from side to side and have several small extensions that grab and manipulate food while it is being eaten. The eyes are jet black and multi-faceted, separated to either side of the head. The antennae are all but vestigial, serving only to help maneuver through wilderness in the darkness.   Given the numbers that we are considering here it would be impossible to give even token representation to all of the Exos species that are known of on Earth. It is believed that there are somewhere between 15 and 20 million Exos on the planet, with another couple thousand on various space stations, lunar colonies, Martian colonies, and asteroid harvesters. Many Exo species that wish to hide their Exo nature, particularly those that are not fortunate enough to be mistaken for human, elect to respresent themselves as a biomorphic or mutated Neohuman.   In that vein there have been many notable costumed heroes that either publically claimed, or were later confirmed to be, Exo. The most notable figure in this category would be the Myrnean hero Depthcharge. Her single handed rescue of the Carnival-Princess cruiseship Leviathan and the oil tankers Better Living and Cheshire LPT 4 in the mid-70s catapaulted her to international fame. Arguably the second most famous, or some may say infamous, would be the interplanetary villian Praisidox Renn-dorr, a Mendatto Praisidox of the Vendoshan Theocratic Interrignum and former Admiral of the Armada of the Holy Skyfire. His multiple failed invasions of Earth resulted in his supposed exile from the Interrignum. His last known location was the jungle of Avskildhet.   While the people of Earth have expanded as far as Mars with permanent settlements, various Exo contacts have confirmed that Earth lies in what is functionally a demilitarized zone between four interstellar governments. Two of these have been previously mentioned, the Bulrathi Empire and the Vendoshan Theocratic Interrignum. The other two empires are the Pendraxian Judicar Legion and the Malidictum Federation. Since the Bulrathi invasion, ambassadors from the other governments have arrived and Earth currently enjoys something of a special protected status from enough of them that we are usually left alone for the most part.   Well, Eager Learners, this has been a longer episode than usual. Our next episode will delve into some of the specific threats and influences that have shown to take an interest in our Reality Core and the people of Earth specifically.
