Mr. Mysteries' So-True Histories Episode 12 - The Great Deviation

Hello Eager Learners! I'm Mr. History, formerly of the Learned League, and this is my KARENcast series on the history of our Reality, Reality 69. We've already touched on the nature of the Reality Tree and the nature of Prime Reality and how we know we are in a branch. Today's episode is going to touch on what makes our branch unique. This is known as our Great Deviation Point.
  Our specific GDP occurred in the June of 1947. A coalition of secret magical societies executed a ritual, the outcome of which was an event known as the Neohuman Activation Pulse. Whether this was the intention of the ritual is a matter of some debate, but the end result was the activation of superhuman abilities and abnormal developments in roughly 50% of the world's human population (and an estimated 10% of the animal population).
  It is understood that one of Reality 69's Minor Deviations is a quantifiably higher capacity for magic, and that the lack of this prevented a similar development in Reality Prime.
