Jayzine (Jay-Zine)
Jayzine is a vital material to almost every practitioner of the Arcana. It's well known for its use to supplement the material component in or cast nearly any spell, provided the caster knows the spell they wish to cast.
Jayzine is a resource that naturally flows from high-pressure geysers as a thick, silver-colored liquid that is slow to move. Over time, in an open, spacious area, it will crystallize where a crystal column of jayzine will sprout, possibly merging. However, other crystals and columns, in texture and durability, it is similar to Quartz or a diamond. However, one of its properties in this state is that it is very brittle and easily breaks off. Though breaking or shattering Jayzine will lead to it gaining a conchoidal pattern along the break with smooth, curved surfaces, along with the dissipation of its arcane properties.
However, if it's in a sealed container, it will grow to fill the container to the brim, making it far more portable than its column counterpart. These Crystals have a rough texture, with a translucent appearance, featuring a darkened core at its center surrounded by the crystal's hue. The thinner the crystal, the smaller the core. With a sufficiently small core, it can be translucent, allowing even light to pass through it.
Jayzine can also be refined by a process that involves taking a suitable sealed container, filling it with a dense slurry of liquid Jayzine, and allowing it to crystallize. This will result in a Jayzine crystal that may have a more uniform and translucent appearance, shimmering with an otherworldly glow and smoother & more polished.
