S3E13 - Dream's Pick of the Litter .no offense.

Date: 27th of Zuun 1075 ZC

Waiting to hear from Jace. It's been 4 days since he entered Voltara.
 

Downtime resolutions:

The Duke gets a sick ass cyber shield. The Duke puts in a leave of absence at the University. The Chamber of the Guild Pact paid a hefty sum for the Voltara findings. He also takes a 3-month advance on his pay.

Theo and Dream train to prepare Theo to resist Detect Thoughts or Encode Thoughts. Dream teaches her to add lies to the memories, and it's almost like an inception test. The memory will fall apart if she can add enough false details. They start practicing answers to questions that they think Cal and the Dimir will ask. Theo won't go into the Dimir cell until Dream is confident in her abilities to resist. Then the Duke will test her as well.

The researchers, Elena and Coop, will look into necromancy, specifically fungal necromancy, and Merax's history next.

Daily, Dream casts Sending to Haku to give him hope/strength. Cal's cell is hiding from the Dimir. They're afraid of their punishment. In that case, they want to rescue Haku and the Dimir. They can be housed in the Selesnyan Conclave.

Jace checks in but needs more time in Voltara.

We find out that Dream was into Himbos.


 

Date: 28th of Zuun 1075 ZC

Dream casts clairvoyance to get a layout of the hideout. We bring a meal as a peace offering to the Dimir cell. We want this to be as nonviolent as possible.

Theo goes incorporeal and sneaks in. She walks out of the darkness and calls out Cal. Dream reads his thoughts. A vedalken man in a dark cloak is who gives him orders. They call him The Fox.

Dream casts Hypnotic Pattern to incapacitate the rest of the assasins. The Duke frees Haku. Dream casts Suggestion on the children to come with us. Theo allows Cal to say goodbye to the kids, although he doesn't want us to take them.

He says that he tried to save Theo. They were supposed to kill her, but he couldn't give the order. He says that they can help Theo now, but realizes that the party is beyond them. Silky & Uki. Two drow siblings. We leave with them and Haku.

Lassandra sets them up to be homed. We want them integrated with other children and to be schooled. We ask Haku to watch over them while they get settled.

Dream piecing things together: Cal wasn't happy to be working with Gustavo. After Gustavo disappeared, that's when Cal's cell got antsy and went on the run. How did Gustavo know of the cell? The Fox is also vedalken. Maybe that's related. Maybe Haku knows?

Dream asks Haku if they hurt him. He says no more than he deserved. The night we killed Gustavo, he was trying to leave the 10th district and Cal's cell but was caught. He underwent torture but kept his mouth shut about the Gaurdians. When Cal read his mind, that's how they found out about the hideout.

The mission the cell was doing was under Gustavo's control. They were gonna be like his minions. They were going to go retrieve the staff, but they didn't know what it actually was. When Cal found out Gustavo was dead, he immediately seemed worried and afraid. He knew immediately that they were all in danger. Gustavo probably knew something about Cal, and once he was dead, that secret was sure to get out. We think the secret was that Cal didn't refuse the kill order, they lied about it.
Dream tells Haku that he should be aptient with Theo, and that she needs him.
He feels like he keeps apologizing, but she isn't ready to fully forgive him yet.
She is showing her fogiveness thorugh small acts. Dream is giving the right advice. He's just impatient.

 
Lightgale family estate - the tomb is very heavily warded. A week from today, they are hosting a ball. The fastest way for us to get there is via airship.
The duke's father is the district attorney of district 3, or was 30 years ago.
