Ex-Captain Dorian Gloom

Backstory

Once an infamous pirate, Dorian Gloom and his crew were lost to history when he made the fatal decision to send himself and his crew deep into the Sea of Souls to avoid capture.
Today, Dorian only remembers fragments of his past and in place of his memories is the heavy weight of an unknown guilt. He has made it his personal mission to seek out his old crew to piece together his own past so that he can finally move on. Without ship, crew, or past the once-feared Pirate Lord of the Veiled Sea must start again to crawl his way back into the minds, and nightmares, of the people of Marus.
I am the Sodden form of the once infamous Captain Gloom from times long past. I spent a few years wandering the Sea of Souls aimlessly before being guides out towards the rest of the Realm. How I traveled such distance to arrive at the Sea of Brass is still a mystery to me, but that describes much of my existence.
Redemption. I must find the crimes of my past life and correct them, at any cost. But to do so first I must gather power, I must rebuild my ship, and conquer the seas as I had before. But this time, maybe do more good than harm.

The Whispergloom

Named after the infamous Captain Gloom, the Whispergloom was an imposing Karraca (Hulmetic Carrack) painted with blacks and grays to give it the appearance of a damaged vessel from a distance. It was said to be able to disappear when bathed in moonlight. So prolific was the Whispergloom and her crew that she was regarded as a force majeure rather than a crewed ship.

Natural Treasrue: Guilt

Once the heart of an innocent soul, now pierced with thirteen iron nails, it has been transformed into a Natural Treasure infused with Primal Light attuned to the Concepts of Law and Ghosts.
When I awoke that bottom of the Sea of Soul, I was near motionless - my heart no longer beating, my lungs no longer breathing. Water flowed me and I traveled through it. The light-infused depths burned my eyes, leaving me to wander blindly for what felt like an eternity following only the sound of a heartbeat that was not my own.
Eventually coming across an ancient chest, bound in rusted metal with rotting wood, I found the source I had been following. Easily breaking into this forgotten treasure I found what I could only believe was once own heart now infused with the very light I had fled during my previous life.
I now carry it with me, my Guilt, everywhere I go. Each nail that pierces the heart also pierce my mortal soul whenever I use my Natural Treasure but it is the only source of my past I still have. It is my hope that as I repent my sins of my past life, the nails will fall away.
