Physical Description
A lithe drow woman in flowing blackened silks embroidered with skeletal vine motifs. Her silver hair is tied with obsidian pins carved like crows, and her face is serene and emotionless. Moss and decay cling to her feet as if nature itself wilts in her presence. Her eyes are black voids—mirrors to undeath.
Personality & Motivation
Veyla is cold, patient, and devout. She believes death is the truest form of perfection and views herself as a gardener of souls. Her purpose is to ensure the Blight Dragon survives and spreads the “True Silence” across the world. She reveres Vecna as a god of secrets and seeks to unmake the cycle of rebirth.
Fighting Strategy
- Uses minions and terrain to control the battlefield.
- Buffs the Blight Dragon or hinders radiant/light magic.
- Uses battlefield control, illusions, necromantic summons, and blight-based damage over time effects.
- If reduced below 25 HP, she attempts to merge with the shadow of the Blight Dragon, entering a symbiotic phase.

Resistances / Immunities
- Resistances: Necrotic, Poison

- Weakness: Radiant damage bypasses any resistances granted by magic.
Unique Equipment
- Talisman of the Forgotten Fang: Grants her one free use of Counterspell per day and allows communication with the Blight Dragon at any distance.
- Blightwoven Silks: Grants advantage on Concentration checks in dim light or darkness.
Traits
- Daughter of the Shadowed Grove: Undead and shadow creatures within 60 ft of her are immune to turn undead and gain +2 to all saving throws.
- Blightbinding Ritual: Once per day, may perform a 1-minute ritual to bind a slain humanoid into a Shadow Statue, forming a new Blight Entity (see Blight Dragon entry).
- Blight Channel: As a bonus action, may force the Blight Dragon to use a legendary action of her choice (1/round).
Actions
- Entropic Vine (Recharge 5–6):
15-ft cone. DC 15 Dex save or take 5d10 necrotic + restrained (1 round). On success, half damage and no restraint. - Shadow Lash (Melee or 60 ft.): +7 to hit, 2d8+4 necrotic damage; target must save (DC 15 Con) or gain vulnerability to radiant damage for 1 round.
- Blight Seed: Plant a rotting seed in a corpse; it explodes in 1 round. 10-ft radius, 3d10 necrotic damage, DC 15 Dex save.

Legendary Resistance Alternative
- Ritual Defiance (3/day): If she fails a save, she may sacrifice 10 HP and pulse a wave of necrotic spores (5 ft aura, 2d6 necrotic to enemies) to automatically succeed.
Optional Legendary Action-Like Behaviors (If You Want Her Mythic)
She may act after the dragon or after a player turn (1/round):
- Grasp of the Forgotten – Raise 1 Rot-Husk Thrall from a nearby corpse
- Withering Chant – Cast Cause Fear or Minor Illusion as a reaction
- Dark Communion – Channel Blight Dragon’s aura: creatures within 10 ft gain vulnerability to necrotic until end of turn
