Session Recaps 1-5
General Summary
Session 1- 1st- 5th Rainsfall
The story began on board a merchant ship heading to the Gladrian coast from the Arnet Isles. The ship in question was boarded and taken over by Somick Raiders, a collection of hobgoblin warriors and a Drow captain. They were taken captive, and transported to a small island outpost. Once there, Sol came up with an audacious plan of escape, feigning death to lure in guards and then staging a prison break in broad daylight only minutes after their arrival.
They then fled into the jungle with an injured sailor named Thomas. Over the next several days, Sol and Gunvald snuck back to the camp, recovering their gear and further reducing the Hobgoblin numbers, gathering the other scattered survivors, before finally stealthing back to the outpost and under the cover of a thunderstorm and a fiery distraction, stole the Somick ship right from under their nose.
Session 2- 5th to morning of the 6th of Rainsfall
The stolen ship pulls into the capital city of Gladria, a shining trading hub, a symbol of wealth and prosperity. Deciding that they had no use for a ship, Sol and Gunvald decided to gift the captured vessel to their new friend Thomas, who declared he was forever in their debt for their kindness.
After that, they headed into the city, looking to get themselves cleaned after their long journey. Going to a local bath house, Sol picked up on a number of rumors, including one of a prolific smuggling ring somewhere within the city. Sol decided to pursue this thread, and with Gunvald, headed up to the Seaside Citadel to meet with an old friend of Gunvalds, Commadant Warwick. After reminiscing about old times, Warwick gave them the situation. A smuggling ring operating out of the Cracked Cup were stealing dwarven metals, peddling faulty tools, and recently begun manufacturing counterfeit coins. Unfortunately, they seem to have contacts within the guards because he has been unable to catch them in the act. The job is to go and discover how they operate, who is in charge, the routes into the city, and which ship in the harbor is under their control.
To accomplish this, the party takes a room at the Dragon's Heart Inn across the street. After a very disappointing meal and mildly pissing off the innkeeper, they made their way over the the cracked cup, where after a few ales, managed to talk their way into a job interview of sorts. The following night, they are to head back to the tavern and help get a shipment of stolen goods into the city.
Session 3- 6th to the morning of the 7th of Rainsfall
The party spent the day preparing supplies for coming travels. They spent some time at the Steel Swords Guild hall, speaking with the young shop keep in the guilds general store, and met the odd and dangerously brilliant Alchemist Garrin. In exchange for a 2 for the price of 1 deal on health potions and a discount on a custom potion, the party agreed to go get some Jarin root from Murkwood (despite the trees not liking giving up their root).
The party then returned to the cracked cup later that night. They were escorted down a secret tunnel that led to the sewers, where they met a runner named Wessle, who guided the smuggling boat from the outside walls down to the port where they would meet with a Captain Garwick to run the goods out of the city. However, while making the run the party were assailed by a sea serpent that hunts the sewers named Nagis. The crew were killed, but the party managed to fight the serpent off, and saved Wessels life. When they returned, Camera was grateful but suspicious, and promised to look further into the party. Feeling that staying any longer would be pushing their luck, the party decided that it might be time to go back to Warwick with what they know.
