Act 1: Infiltration and Rescue
The players are approached by Private Korg, a determined Tortle seeking to rise up the ranks and find recignition of his efforts
- He seeks their assistance in investigating reports of a rum running operation run by the Darkclaw Gang in the Kobold District. Korg explains that Milo Greenhill, a mischievous glenfolk halfling with connections in the criminal underworld and an old friend of Korg's, was gathering intel on the gang
- Milo hasnt been seen in a while, and Korg is afraid he got his friend hurt. He can't go through the offical chanels, as he is operating without orders, and cant afford the rates of the Riders.
- Offering 20g up front for help, and a promise of 100g more when he gets his promotion.
Korg leads the players to the outskirts of the Seafarer's Warf, where a suspected Darkclaw Gang's storhouse is located. The area is heavily guarded, making a direct assault too risky. Instead, Korg suggests infiltrating the hideout stealthily to rescue Milo.
The players must use their skills and ingenuity to navigate the gang's hideout, avoiding patrols and traps along the way. Inside, they find Milo being held captive in a dimly lit room, guarded by several gang members.
With careful planning and coordination, the players must defeat the guards and free Milo before making their escape. Once Milo is safe, he shares the information he gathered with korg and the players, revealing the extent of the rum running operation and the gang's involvement.
Act 2: Dismantling the Operation
With Milo safely rescued, Korg shares the intel gathered by the halfling, revealing that the Darkclaw Gang is planning to transport a large shipment of illegal booze to Herdlend via a smuggler's ship, the
Cyclops. The players, along with Korg and Milo, realize that intercepting the shipment is crucial to dismantling the rum running operation.
- Milo uses his connections in the criminal underworld to gather information on the whereabouts of the smuggler's ship, while Korg devises a plan for the raid. The players must assist in descritly acquiring a suitable vessel for the operation.
Once preparations are complete, the players set sail under the cover of night, navigating the treacherous waters of the coast to intercept the smuggler's ship. As they approach, they encounter fierce resistance from the gang's crew, who are determined to protect their illicit cargo.
- The players must board the smuggler's ship and engage in a heated battle with the gang's enforcers, using their wits and combat prowess to overcome the odds.
