The Creation of the Cosmos
The Primordial Age
The Archdeities
In the beginning, there was Eternity. But before the beginning, before Eternity, there was something Else. Magic. Before Time, before Nothing, before Eternity, Magic was. Magic Is. The most powerful being, Magic created Eternity. When Eternity was created, Magic slept. Eternity thought of another being. A being that does not exist, yet exists. Eternity created Nothing. And Eternity loved Nothing. This was a new emotion. The first Emotion. Love.
The Far Planes
Eternity chose for his second creation to be Something. He called this Something a Plane of Existence. Also, within this infinite Plane of Existence, he created another Infinite Plane of Existence. He named these planes "Outside" for the larger infinity, and Universe for the smaller infinity. But unbeknownst to Eternity, when Magic slept, his consciousness wandered and created another Infinite Plane of Existence that coexisted with Outside. This was Magic's Great Dream. When Dream collided with Outside, the Universe shifted and settled on the seam of the two coterminous Far Planes.
The Grand Primordials
The first emotion, Love, came into being. with love comes creativity. Love came up with a new concept. Gender. And Names. Love decided to prefer the female form. Then did she choose a new name. Phillia, she called herself. Then came her siblings. First, came Evil. A being that only cared for himself, Evil would take anything he wanted. With Evil came new Emotions: Selfishness and Hate. Then came his sister. Law, a being of order and justice. Law believed in order and balance, so was impatient for the third child. With Law, came new Emotions: Apathy and Antipathy. Third, Good. bringing Balance to the Universe, Good cared. Good cared even for his brother, that immediately despised his siblings - especially Good. With Good came new Emotions: Care and Selflessness. Then came Chaos. The most powerful Grand Priomordial, Chaos was destruction incarnate. She embodied all the Emotions that came before: Love, Selfishness, Hate, Apathy, Antipathy, Care, and Selflessness, and created the Virtues and Vices. The first Angels and Demons.
Virtues
The Seven Cardinal Virtues are the first and most powerful Angels. They are Prudence, Justice, Temperance, Fortitude, Faith, Hope, and Charity
Vices
The Seven Cardinal Vices are the first and most powerful Demons. They are Greed, Wrath, Gluttony Sloth, Pride, Envy, and Lust.
Chaos was so powerful and scary that the other Grand Primordials (sans Phillia) quickly imprisoned her, but even three Grand Primordials can only do so much against one of their own.
The First Low Primordials
Phillia, being the Creative One, knew intrinsically that only Archdeities could create other gods. The best even Grand Primordials could do on their own was create Demigods like the Virtues and Vices, and even that came from the explosion of power at Chaos' birth. But Phillia also new that other gods could be created by less magical means. So one by one, she slept with the other Grand Primordials, and one by one, Phillia gave birth to or fathered her four children. First was Amora the Seductress. The child of Evil and Love, Amora is the goddess of Sexual Love and Lust. Next was the practical son, Sturgis the Follower. Born of Law and Love, Sturgis is the god of Practical Love and Marriage. Third was Agape, the Virgin. Fathered by Good and born of Love, Agape is the goddess of Sacrificial Love and Chastity. The First Virgin deity, Agape went to her Grandparents, Eternity and Nothing for their blessing and protection. Last, but most famous was Eros the Archer, also known as Cupid. Cupid is the son of Love and Chaos, and is the mischievous dealer of love. The god of Romantic Love and Envy, Cupid is the most obviously active and prayed to Love god.
The Outer Planes
The Virtues, Vices, and the Primordials created their own homes. They created a circle with cones on top and bottom. This shape surrounded the Universe and was filled with 18 more Infinite Planes of Existence. They are as follows:
- The Coexistent Domain of Faerie
- The Concordant Domain of the Outlands
- Heroic Domains of Ysgard
- Ever-Changing Chaos of Limbo
- Windswept Depths of Pandemonium
- Infinite Layers of the Abyss
- Tarterian Depths of Carceri
- Gray Waste of Hades
- Bleak Eternity of Gehenna
- Nine Hells of Baator
- Infernal Battlefield of Acheron
- Clockwork Nirvana of Mechanus
- Peaceable Kingdoms of Arcadia
- Seven Mounting Heavens of Celestia
- Twin Paradises of Bytopia
- Blessed Fields of Elysium
- Wilderness of the Beastlands
- Olympian Glades of Arborea
The High Primordials
Centuries later, Eternity and Nothing once again chose to create. But their power had been diminished when their first children were born, for they took some of their power with them. So their new set of children was not as powerful as their first, nor as volatile. Now, they decided to Populate the Universe. Within the Universe, they created a world, and they named this world Rasani. Then they created other bodies called the Sun and Moon, and more, lesser bodies called Stars. The sun, also creative, called himself Sol, and the Moon called herself Luna. Then something tragic happened. Death. A star was killed by Evil. When this happened, a new god was created. Mors, the god of death, immediately followed by Lebn, the god of Life. Lebn was powerful, and full of Creation. He wanted to Create more than just celestial outsiders, more than just planes of existence. Lebn had dreams. Then came the three weakest of the Primordials. Weakest, but together, more powerful than anyone could imagine. The three gods of the Arcana: Majus, Majere, and Maji. They, too wanted to create. but not in the same way Lebn wanted to. They wanted to create spells, magic, build and destroy. and finally, with the combined might of Lebn and the triplets' curiosity and the Eternal and Nothing's want, life was breathed into this Rasani. And this Life caled itself Nature.
Sol, Luna and the Second Low Primordials
The Sun and Moon were granted rulership over Night and Day. Eros quickly decided to experiment on Sol and Luna. He shot them with his Arrows, and they fell in love. Sturgis quickly intervened and facilitated the first marriage. Once Sol and Luna were married, they got to work. Their first set of twins were Khepri and Metztli, the god and goddess of the Dawn. Next came the twin archers. Atemis, the second Virgin, Goddess of the Hunt and Driver of the Moon Chariot, and her brother, Phoebus Apollo, Driver of the Sun Chariot and god of Music and Art. Third is the Twins of Dusk, Elegabal and Selene, who guide the chariots at the transition from day to night. Last born are the Element Twins. Lugh, god of Fire, and Hecate, goddess of Cold.
Khepri the Dawn of the Sun and Metztli the Dusk of the Moon
As the Moon falls in the west, the Sun rises in the East. This is called Dawn. Khepri, also known as Ra, Khamun, Khamun Ra, and many others, Khepri appears as a Dung Beetle. He guides the Sun as it rises in the East. After Dawn, he returns to the East to await the Sun after its journey through the Night. Meanwhile in the West, Metztli guides the Moon to its resting place for the day. As the Moon rests, and the Sun works, Khepri and Metztli live at either end of the Night.
Phoebus Apollo
Phoebus Apollo, sometimes just Apollo, more often just Phoebus, is more than just the driver of the Sun Chariot. As most of his consciousness is spent driving the Sun, he can also be found as a god of Music, Healing, Archery, Prophesy, and sits on the Olympic Council.
Artemis the Huntress
Artemis, the Mistress of the Hunt, is smarter and faster and better at archery than her Twin, Pheobus. She has figured out how to autopilot the Moon Chariot, so it only takes a tiny fraction of her power. As soon as she was born, she went to Aunt, Law, and Law made consecrated her virginity. Which some see as a shame, for she is arguably more beautiful than Phillia. She began hunting as soon as there were creatures to Hunt. She is also the goddess of the Hunt, Maidens, Childbirth, and sits on the Olympic Council.
