Paladins and their Variants

Ah, Paladins... The Paragon of good, of Moral High Ground, Of the strictest Alignment in the game: Lawful Good. At least until Fourth Edition botched that one up. Some people might say. Me? I'm willing to meet everyone in the middle. Because Rasani already has various Paladin Orders, and it would be an absolute pain to rework that, I've decided that there will be two kinds of paladin: The Order Paladin (which includes members of Palathin Orders) and the Oath Paladin. Yes, Order Paladins take oaths, but those are specific to the Order, and they all have their abilities. The Oath Paladins are my attempt to homebrew Fifth edition oaths (from the Players' Handbook and beyond) into my 3.5 world. Because the ROLEPLAY!

Part 1: Order Paladins

These are the Paladins you find in the 3.5e Players' Handbook. And the Palathins you can find elsewhere in the New Classes section of this. However, to gain the benefits of these classes, you must be a member of one of the orders, which have their own Tenets and Oaths, which vary from the Oath Paladins. Each Order has a long list of rules to follow on top of their tenets, but those will be explained in their individual organization pages. Some of these are continent-locked to be in a geographic location, and some are Culture-locked. Culture-locked does not mean racial-locked, a human can still technically join the Swords of Light, it's just culturally Elvish.

1.1 Knights of Valen

These are your plain vanilla Paladins, and are located on the continent of Northern Asarnia. These knights follow Valen, Goddess of Valor. Their tenets are as follows:

  1. Follow the Goddess Valen
  2. Show Valor on and off the Battlefield
  3. Defend the Defenseless
  4. Do not tolerate the Evil
  5. Tolerate the Chaotic only to the extent of vanquishing Evil

1.2 Knights of Tyrannus

These are your Plain Vanilla Palathins, and are also located on the continent of Northern Asarnia. These knights follow Tyrannus, god of tyranny, and their tenets are as follows:

  1. Follow the God Tyrannus
  2. Show Honor in Conquest
  3. Do not concern yourself with the weak.
  4. Do not tolerate the Good
  5. Tolerate Chaos only to the extent of Vanquishing Good

1.3 Legionnaires of Reme

These paladins are more concerned with Law and Order than Good, and are located on the continent of Rasani. These knights follow the Olympians, and their tenets are as follows:

  1. Follow the Guiding Light of Olympus
  2. Follow Emperor and Empire
  3. Bring Law to the Lawless
  4. Do not tolerate Chaos
  5. Tolerate Evil only to the extent to vanquish Chaos

1.4 Keltic Knights

These palathins are similarly concerned with Law and Order over Evil, and are also located on the continent of Rasani. These knights follow the Gaelic gods, and their tenets are as follows:

  1. Follow the Keltoris
  2. Follow King and Country
  3. Bring Law to the Lawless
  4. Do not Tolerate Chaos
  5. Tolerate Good only to the extent to vanquish Chaos

1.5 Swords of Light

These paladins are culture-locked to elves (just as the above are continent-locked). They follow Elvantris, god of Elves. Their tenets are as follow:

  1. Follow Elvantris
  2. Respect your superiors
  3. Protect Nature's Beauty
  4. Help the Helpless
  5. Do not tolerate Evil

1.6 Bows of Night

These are the Elvish Palathins and are also culture-locked to the elves. Specifically dark elves. They follow Lolth, goddess of the Drow. They follow these tenets:

  1. Follow Lolth
  2. Respect your superiors
