Inventor's Committee
The Inventor's Committee is the ruling governmental body of the Gnomish nation. It is based in Atraxia on Ambion.
Structure
The Inventor's Committee is made up of between 5 and 11 members, always an odd number. New members are chosen when the longest serving member's Crowning Achievement Patent lapses, generally 10 years after being granted by the Patent Office.
The Committee operates completely by voting, with no assigned roles or responsibilities. There are large clerical bodies that organise all the proposals to be brought before the Committee, which meets once a week to deliberate and decide on courses of action. It is not unusual for proposals to wait years before being brought before the Committee, due to the sheer volume of requests and ideas.
