Pryde

Pryde, formerly Lacie Pride, is a god torn by their own fate, and shattered by their own circumstance. They occupy the space of Limerence, and they are a bastion for all those who are jealous and heartbroken. A fearless, crying soldier of the anger and hurt that encompasses so many in the throes of passion.   What is one who is rejected? One who loves so wholly and yet one who still must suffer without that love's completion. That is the essence of the woe of Pryde, an eternally beautiful princess, locked in her castle tower, knowing full well that no prince is coming to save her, knowing all too well that the prince is a liar, and nothing more, and yet being unable to let go of that pure, innocent love that we know, somewhere, is true.   Pryde is a very popular god, and she represents the antithesis of Trist. She is able to act as a counterpoint to the eternal optimism of him by noting the fallacy of it all. Knowing full well that love is only held by the lucky few, she stands as a banner-maid for all those left behind by loves furious waves.

Holidays

Red & White Day: Trist is renowned on two primary days: Red Day, in the early Spring, and White Day, later in the Spring. Red day is generally celebrated by individuals who are courting - traditionally women, but nobody is restricted - to present a gift of affection to the one they admire. Then, approximately a month later, the receivers of these gifts are expected to return the affection to their admirer. This tradition is adopted broadly across all racial and social structures, but is most popular with children, adolescents, and young adults. Trist is frequently called upon to act as a confidence-booster and an intermediary for various romantic affairs, or for gift giving suggestions.

Personal history

"This is wrong, this is so so wrong. I didn't want this. Why did I even come here. They said oh it's like a party, Trist, just a lot more blood Trist, you need to come Trist, you'll probably die if you don't Trist. Well, I'm probably going to die anyway! I'm not meant for this even a little bit!   I saw The Vagrant chase after The Moon and no sir'ee, I have zero interest in all of that lot. I need to find Neive. Right, Neive will know what to do. Or The Balance, he's always a fine bloke. He'll be able to help with all this, I'm certain of it. It's so bloomin' dark out here though! Where even am I..."   "You."   "AH! Don't just step out of the shadows like that, you absolutely fetching lass, we don't have the time for any of this."   "Why do I know you?"   "What?"   "I feel you."   "I... I mean, not to put too fine a point on it, but quite a number feel me. Have felt me. Hopefully will, but I right now, as you can see, bit of chaos, War in Heaven and all that. A bit tense. I'm just going to... AH!"   "I know who you are. Why? Why do I recognize you? Who are you?"   "Ah, Trist is the name, pleasure. Mind unhanding my collar there? Aye, that's a lass. By the way, who are you?"   "I don't have a name."   "Well that's no good... Got a little panicked by all of this? Don't blame you. We can walk together if you like?"   "I am divine."   "Absolutely, right you are, absolutely divine. Very fetching if I do say so myself! Now, if you don't mind, I really have to get going..."   "I mean to say, I am divine. I think."   "Oh... OH THAT DIVINE. Right, you must be a fledgling. Actually, absolutely, that's probably why you recognized me, certainly, knew that from the beginning and OH MY STARS LOOK OUT BEHIND YOU! .... oh.... I see, that's a... a mighty big dagger you have there. And you put it right in that demon's forehead."   "It was one of his. He left it behind, very long ago."   "And you are an expert with it, I might add, how absolutely astounding you are wielding that... let's just... right back in the sheathe, there we go, much safer that way. How long... exactly have you been ascended?"   "I found it in his waiting room. I thought to take it. Him... I'm looking for him."   "Well, think you're a bit misplaced, lovey. Whoever you're looking for, I doubt they're..."   "It's him."   "Him? Who? Oh, HIM. Oh you... oh... oh my, ah yes... Lacie, wasn't it? Right, didn't recognize you with all the y'know. And the... woof, I mean really on point with that ascension, very dashing, really rocking it, if I do say so myself."   "I can't believe it... after all this time."   "Right, about that, I don't think we should..."   "I need to return his blade."   "No you don't, little lady. If you're new to all this, then you are most certainly not ready for any of this business going on here."   "Unhand me! I said unhand me! I must see him, just one more time."   "I am ready to piss my own britches, but I will most certainly not unhan... CAN YOU PLEASE PUT THAT DAGGER AWAY, IT'S SCARING ME."   "I need to save him! Look! He's under threat. I need to save him, let me go!"   "Oh, aye... that's not going to end well."   "KORVA, NO!!!   "Called that, I did. Well don't push me! I'm not the one who got to him."   "You fool!"   "Mind that dagger lass, let's not do anything sudden."   "You kept me from him in life. And now at the end of all things, you still keep me from him."   "Not my choice, deary. Bit more complicated than that."   "Why shouldn't I slay you where you stand. That's what this all is about, isn't it? We're gods and we're taking what we need?"   "That is is dear. And do you know what you want to do with all that you take from me?"   "I want him back!"   "That's not how this ascension thing works, love. Even if you spill out my insides here and take everything I've got, you won't get him back, and you won't get what you want. That's not the deal you took. What? Well, thank you for the dagger I guess, but."   "Kill me."   "What?"   "Kill me! Kill me now! If I cannot have him, then I shan't have myself in this feeble world meant for ruin."   "You can make me hold this knife to your throat all you'd like. But this also doesn't work that way. You can't make me kill you. For a god to die, the other one has to want it. Oh, there there lass, mind your knees. It's okay to cry. I'm sure this is all quite a lot."   "I just... I said anything... I'd do anything for him and... LOOK OUT!"   "AH! AWAY BEASTIE! We... Were having... A MOMENT! Right... well, that stings..."   "You... you're wounded. Wounded because of me..."   "S'alright lovey, just a scratch. Um... an ethereal scratch that, well, more like a slash, and I'm gonna be honest, more like a gash, I don't think that heals very well. But a scratch nonetheless. Let's get you out of here."   "I... I cannot go on."   "My... you're fading. You ascended but... What did you take as a domain?"   "Him... only him..."   "Fuck fuck fuck... right, Vagrant always said he was the biggest idiot he'd ever meant. Here."   "What is that...? it shines like the most iridescent gem."   "That, my love, is a part of my divinity. I want you to have it. That's right, now think about it for a moment, and dollop that right into your chest like a good girl. Aye, patience... this is not a thing you rushed, like you already did. Think, and then... Wow."   "I feel... different."   "Aye, that happens when you take on a proper domain. Better? More relieved? A bit gaseous? I know I belched a million times I first ascended, although it could've just been the ale, I could swear..."   "I feel sad... He really is gone."   "If rumors are true, I think that the answer is also more complicated. What do you think of that? Hey.... hey now, put down the dagger and AH! Oh... Didn't see that godling behind me. Thank you..."   "You helped me first."   "Well, a debt repaid, I suppose. Say, I know you just lost a dear lover and all, but mind if I take you on a date?"   "Is this really quite the time?"   "I believe so. And if you take my arm right now, I seek to take you to this beautiful spot I know back on Rakuen where we can both get away from all this. What say you?"   "Perhaps that is not such a poor invitation."   "Right then, that's a gal. Upsie-daisy, hold on tight, aye."   "Aye then..."   "I know a song just for the occasion. Sing it with me and we'll both be a little less scared, aye? Allons-y!"
