Epic fantasy, open source!

Raios is epic fantasy that still feels REAL, because it's based on known science and on the diverse history of real human civilization. Raios is a game world with 40 years of history and of fun play.

It's open source because we want hundreds of pages of it to be public and free for every TTRPG table to use, forever. And it's open source because we welcome collaboration with other designers, artists, creators, GMs and players. It's a planet-sized world, with room for ALL of us!

It's open source to help it be game-system agnostic. There are LOTS of fun ways to TTRPG, and we want to support them. We have character creation rules now for D&D, Shadowdark, Pathfinder 1E and Pathfinder 2E, but if you play another game system, we'll be glad to help you add support for it.

Getting started

With more than 200 articles, 300 images, 200,000 words and 9 maps - so far! - it's important and helpful to Start with this walk through. You'll be glad you did. ;)

Public plus subscriber content

Raios starts with and will maintain hundreds of pages of content that are entirely public and free to use for your own games.

The Discord server will also be a free, public community where you can join and participate with others playing in their own World of Raios games.

To help support the hosting of this huge site and the Discord server, we also offer some extra content which is available to Patreon supporters of Raios. There is a Adventurer tier at Patreon as well as a Game Master tier, with appropriate visibility to extra content based on that role. This is also how we will secure GM content for things like adventures, settings, special game world locations and NPC details.
