Dungeons & Dragons Character Creation Guidelines:
Ability Scores. +2 Strength, +1 Dexterity, +1 Constitution, -1 Charisma, -1 Intelligence.
Size. They are large-sized creatures, taking up adjacent squares. They have a reach of 5 feet from their human torso.
Speed. They have a speed of 50 feet that is reduced to 35 feet when wearing armor that is heavier than studded leather. Armor costs triple when it protects their horse body as well as human torso, and must be hand-crafted as a combination of human armor and horse barding. Ranfaroth normally only craft or wear leather or studded leather armor.
Languages. They begin play speaking Common and Ranfaran. Ranfaroth with Intelligence scores higher than 12 can choose one additional starting language. Only a small minority of Ranfaroth know how to read and write.
Defense Racial Traits. Their natural armor provides a +2 AC. As a quadruped, they have a +4 against attempts to trip, shove or move them.
Skill Racial Traits. Nature and Survival are always proficient skills.
Offense Racial Traits. Besides class-based weapon proficiencies, all Ranfaroth are proficiency with the lance and the ability to use it one handed. They deal double damage with a lance when charging.
Darkvision. Ranfaroth can see perfectly in the dark up to 60 feet.
