The Lich Yarrick attempeted to take over the entirety of Fakriubrone island, and succeeded for almost 400 years, until a group of adventurers gathered together and trapped him deep underground where he couldn't use his dark magic.

Exactly one year prior, the evil Lich Yarrick declared he would begin his takeover of the island on the first of Frostburn at exactly 1 AM in one year's time. Many believed this to be a false claim done by a foolish spellcaster, however, once the first came about, Yarrick unleashed an army of undeads upon Fakriubrone island, fulled by arcane power.   Hundreds of years passed, and Yarrick continued his slaughter, many cities fell during the time, and many people began praying for heroes to come and save them, some even venturing into the Arid Wastes in the hope that those heroes were waiting somewhere in the endless desert for someone to wake them. Suddenly, a group of adventurers with a large abandonment for their lives attempted to face Yarrick and couldn't defeat him, however, they were able to seal his phylactery deep underground, where his body could never reform again.
