The Great Dwarven Stronghold

The great Dwarven city of Birgafun, sometimes called the Dwarven stronghold is the second largest city on the Fakriubrone island, just barely smaller than the Capital city and the largest trading port for the economy of Fakriubrone island, supplying the entire continent with large deposits of volcanic ash, obsidian, and precious metals.   The Dwarven stronghold got its name from back when colonists originally arrived on Fakriubrone island, the island broke out into a massive war, known now as the 7 Nations War, The Dwarven stronghold used their extensive knowledge in animation magic and their powerful metals to create the Warforged and achieve victory in the war. The city also functioned as a safe place for refugees from the violent events of the war.   The Architecture of Birgafun is primarily based on a simplistic building style named “Cliff facing” by architects, the technique involves carving the structure of the building out of a large part of stone without the movement of the stone, it is commonly used by Dwarfs due to the accessible nature of the building style. Many of the buildings in the city are made of obsidian or an extremely durable rock called “Ashstone” (Made when obsidian is mixed with volcanic ash at extremely high temperatures.) There is little to no wood in the entire city and almost everything is made from stones.   Gemstones and Rare Metals are abundant inside the depths of Birgafun, thusly making the city a hotspot for mining and jewelry factories, however, so are monsters, making Birgafun one of the most heavily guarded cities in the world, needing several guards to protect the city at all hours.   The Mountain that Birgafun is under is the tallest mountain in the world, with its peak standing at 450,000ft. above the earth.

Demographics

Most, if not all the residents of Birgafun are Dwarven craftsmen who tend to be similar in economic standing, there may be the occasional aristocrat or person living in poverty, but most are middle-class craftsmen.

Government

Birgafun is a Monarchy ruled by King Stifbeard, their laws are rather leineant and their taxation is only on housing. The most strict law in the whole kingdom is their policy of not trading with The Oasis due to their open hatred of Warforged that have detered from their base programming.

Defences

As the city is under a mountain in the middle of a tunnel to the Underdark, there are only two ways to enter the city. The front way is blocked by a massive door made of a wood that has been modified to be completely fire-proof and to drive off termites, the only way through that door is for someone on the inside to open it for you. The other way in is through the back, which requires traversing a long abandoned mineshaft that has been overrun with Underdark monsters and Kobolds, but before that you must survive a week-long expidition through the Underdark and then climb up a 600-foot vertical wall, along with that, due to how dangerous the Underdark is, trained guards stand watch all hours of the day at the gate between the city and the mineshaft.
