Oroban

Orobans are a race of broad-shouldered humanoids with a smaller stature than humans. Their skin tone ranges from a deep beige to a dark chocolate with slight bronze sheen. As earth born, they inhabit city-states built around fortresses inside mountains. Orobans are a crafty people, and enjoy family traditions over everything. They pray mostly to Prak, but in their day-to-day life follow a faith around Paragons - the believe that the founder of their clan has ascended to near-godhood and watches over them as a spirit. Most Oroban homes have some type of ancestor shrine, and spirit shamans are oftentimes seen with high regard in Oroban communities. Oroban society is inherently hierarchical, with a clear divide in two main castes - Valley Orobans live outside of the mountain, in trapezoid houses made of stone. They tend the fields, raise cattle and brew beer. They are divided into a brewster, farmer, forester and trader guilds. The High Orobans live in the mountain and massive fortresses that tower out of it. High Orobans are divided further into a soldier, artisan and priest guild, with the mages of the kingdom being part of the artisan guild and the priest guild also containing spirit shamans. Also, High Orobans are divided into large family clans, usually with an elder on top, and worshipping a specific paragon. These families make up the council of elders, and every 10 years, a high king is voted amongst them, whose family takes over the High Fortress of the city state for the duration.
