Port Towns
The Corsaren Port Towns around the western, southern and northern part of the subcontinent are mostly defined by trade and piracy.
The houses of these towns are built from clay and have square shapes. Many of them are painted in colorful patterns, and palmtrees are a certain sight in these towns.
The common folk that don't participate in piracy or trade are mostly fishermen, salt farmers or perform other ocean-related trades, like pearl diving or ship building.
Local dishes tend to be fish-based and contain citrus and rice. The alcoholic drinks found in the Port towns are mostly hard drinks, like Rum or Rice Schnapps.
However, the wealthier members of society can easily afford imported wines, beers or mead from faraway lands.
Inland Culture
Further Inland, the culture changes to reflect the distance to the ocean. Houses in the inland of the subcontinent are mostly built with small, sturdy clay bricks and farming and ranching become more prominent trades. The horses and cattle of Cors are famed for their lean meat and resilient build, which is necessary in the more arid parts of the subcontinent. Population is somewhat scarce in these areas, and the more eastern and southern jungles see nearly no population at all. A large part of the produce from these lands is confiscated monthly as part of a tithe system established by the armadas and shipped to Wharftown. That being said, there are also mines, quarries and smelting communities to be found in the northeast and southwest of the Inland area, near mountain ranges.
Wharftown Culture
Finally, Wharftown itself is a repurposed Shadim fortress near the center of the subcontinent. Here, the Pirate Queen reigns. The town itself is a giant construct with 7 distinct layers on top of each other, and with a population of over 500,000 citizens. These citizens are relegated to specific layers based on their wealth, with the poorest people living on the lowest layer, and the richtest people living on the highest layer. The town itself has 6 dry-docks for airships, and many of the people in Wharftown either work in some way as Magitek technicians in these dry-docks, peons, pirates, traders or artisans.
