Rotbloom, also known as the Reapers Talon, is a relic weapon dedicated to the Primal Deity Putrivita. This one handed poisoned sword is a artifact and gift originating from the Primal Deity Putrivita, and as such has properties mirroring her domain. These properties manifest in the form of a virulent poison that emanates from the blade. This poison is extremely potent, so much so that even minor contact with organic surfaces can have terrible and usually deadly outcomes. This holy weapon is bestowed upon those who dedicate themselves to Putrivita wholly and the natural order of the world, and is used by them to preserve this order.
History
For as long as Putrivita has had mortal followers, has she had a need to aid them against forces that go against the natural order of the world. The first of her champions name has been lost to the chronicles of time. Thus this first champion to have wielded Rotbloom has since been known as the 'Scarlet Flower' on account of the crimson armor she was said to have worn. The Scarlet Flower wielded Rotbloom for nearly three centuries if the stories are to be believed.
Significance
As much a symbol of favor as it is a weapon, whoever wields Rotbloom is blessed by Putrivita whether they understand what that means or not. While she prefers that one of her own flock wields the blade, Putrivita cares not who swings the blade as each swing brings with it the gift of death and then rebirth.
