Fendas (currency)
Nyssa's Notes
It had not been long since I had been awoken from my hibernation that I was introduced to the fenda, the primary currency in the country of Quivan. When I first got the chance to closely examine one, I was impressed at the beauty of this common object, an object so common in daily life that the residents of this new society had grown jaded to its gorgeous nature. Fendas are small disks of a woven fiber with an opalescent sheen. The light plays and catches on it with any slight motion, and though they bend slightly when forced - an act which only serves to make the light dance further across them - they seem quite resilient. I asked my new friends about these curious "coins," and learned a few further details. They are woven from the fibers of a plant called fendasa, and the fibers are treated with some manner of chemical which further increases their resilience and makes them relatively fireproof. A curious form of currency indeed! I myself only have a few of them to my name. Perhaps I'll spend one on a nice meal tonight...Manufacturing process
Specialized tools are required for the job, and a team of dozens of weavers are employed after every harvest to weave new fendas.
