Vulerans
The ship seemed to appear out of no where. Where once there was empty space, a fully armed battleship materialized in front of us. It's design and configuration are completely foreign to us, though it is easy to assume who we might be dealing with. "Captain...? The vessel is hailing us." "Onscreen." Sure enough. As soon as visual contact was established, there they were. Pointed ears and all. The most unsettling part, though, was the wry grin on the Captain's face. "I am Commander T'Mar of the Eldari Vessel H'qarri, and you, captain, seem to be lost. May we be of assistance?" "I apologize for the confusion, Commander. I am Captain Biron, and we were investigating unusual energy readings we believe are connected to our missing colonies. Our intentions are purely scientific and for aid." "I see. How interesting that we are out here investigating the same thing. I believe we both have enough data to know who the culprit is. The state of things in this quadrant is quite unsatisfactory, is it not?" "I understand your concern. Perhaps we can work together?" "Without us and left to you, the System Lords have over taken half the qaudrant. Your actions have proven ineffective. We have lingered in the shadows long enough. Do you understand now, Captain? We... are back."Vulerans were one of the most ancient races in this quadrant of the galaxy. Hailing from the Vulera System, they once had a vast Star Empire across both the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. Mysteriously, at the same time the Vuleran Sun went nova, nearly the entire race vanished seemingly overnight. Reeling from the destuction of their home and the collapse of their empire, three surviving groups set out across the Alpha Quadrant to find a new home. The three groups, known as the Eldari (elle-dar-ee), the Kreatos (kree-ay-toes), and the Xechara (Zek-are-uh), settled vast distances from each other and developed their own new cultures. While they have retained a common genetic root, they no longer see themselves as the same people but related species of common descent.- Mission Log on the Encounter with the Eldari
Remnants of a Vast Empire
Little is known about the Vuleran Star Empire. What ruins and evidence there was have long since been hoarded by the System Lords or is so well hidden they have yet to be discovered. The descendants of the Vulerans still dream of the empire and home that was lost and there is still an innate desire to reclaim what was lost. Many dedicate themselves to science, the arts, and exploration to distinguish themselves instead of living in the shadow of their ancestors. It is common for a Vuleran to take great pride in their community and its accomplishements, though they are also not above pulling the Vuleran card when interacting with others to try and pull rank on why their technology is superior. Each of the 3 descendant groups strive to establish themselves in distinct ways from each other to form their own identity.Timeless Perspective
Vulerans are very long lived, with many living over 5 centuries. This vast lifespan compared to the other races gives them a unique perspective on the events of the galaxy. The older Vulerans have learned the art of patience and knowing what battles to fight. Interestingly, the different sub-groups have different outlooks on life and their role in the galaxy. The Eldari are the most patient of the three and prefer often to wait int the shadows gathering intelligence before acting. When they do however, they act with swift, focused, often relentless actions. Their emotions have not been dulled by their long life spans and they believe their knowledge and leadership is imperative to the stability of the Quadrant, like the Vuleran Empire before them. They are not dictators by any means, but certainly have high standards for their society. The Kreatos believed hubris lead to the downfall of their vast empire. Over the years, they have practiced the restraint of emotion and dedicated themselves fully into diplomacy, science, and philosophy. Their knowledge of the galaxy and planes far surpasses that of many in the galaxy. The Xechara were victims of circumstance and forced to adapt and survive working closely with others. As a result, they are the most amicable to non-Vulerans and are more often to have the least feelings of superiority from their heritage or longevity. They prefer to use their time given to enhance and collaborate with other species, even many generations of the same families or groups.Divergent Destinies
The three sub-groups expereinced vastly different fates as they set out from the ruins of Vulera. This has shaped them into the cultures they are today. The Eldari regrouped with a smaller pool of survivors in the Lantia System and continued away from the Beta Quadrant. Small in number with limited firepower, they skirted populated systems until after decades they found a system isolated and remote they could settle in peace. It took many years before they were able to spread to neighboring systems and when they came in contact with other races, they typically withdrew and enforeced many xenophobic policies to protect their space. In the first Eldari republic, they formed relations with some of the nearby powers, though a group sought their secrets and brought their republic to ruin, though they were quickly destroyed. As a result, the Eldari resumed their xenophobic policies and withdrew into their space and protected it relentlessly. Only recently have the emegred and revealed themselves to the rest of the quadrant as the Eldari Federation of Planets. The Kreatos, the largest group, followed the border of the Alpha and Beta quadrants and soon settled in a quite system already having Vuleran colonization equipment on it and established a stable community. After only 200 years, however, an ancient evil and myth of the Vuleran's made their way to the Alpha Quadrant. No one could have stood a chance again the invasion of the System Lords. As one of the closest systems to the Beta Quadrant, the Kreatos were the first to fall to their rule. From there, the System Lords spread across the quadrant subjugating worlds and pillaging the Vuleran ruins. A few scholars outside the Empire note how interesting it is the philosophy of humility and emotional repression was a founding principle for the Kreatos, and yet fate seemed to feel it needed to humble them more by having their world be the one conquered by the System Lords. Fates was the least kind to the Xechara early on. Following a similar path to the Eldari, while entering the space now known as the Sharian Corridor, they encountered a spatial anomaly and where thrown across the quadrant and crashed into a tidal locked planet in the Xibaria System. Seeking shelter in the dark side of the planet, the Vulerans encountered another humanoid race that lived on the dark side of the planet. The Vulerans, battered and broken were welcomed with open arms. The native people, the Dewori, had been devastated by a natural disaster and plague. Though the plague was cured, it decimated the Dewori population. The crashed Vulerans were seen as a miracle from the gods to preseve their people. The Vulerans helped the Dewori rebuild and the Dewori taught them new technologies, sciences, and magics. Over the centuries, the people became 1 known as the Xechara. Ths foundation of working together influenced their policied of working with the neighboring powers.Vuleran Names

After the destruction of the Vuleran System, three dominant groups of Vulerans split across the Alpha Quadrant. After thousands of years, their cultures and even some genetic makeup have divereged. While keeping the shared traits of their common root, their new genetic coding and cultures have shaped them in unique ways. It is still technically accurate to refer to any of these groups as Vulerans, but many prefer to be identified with their modern people instead of being lumped together. Though genetically, all three groups are still compatible, they do have sufficient genetic drift to be classified as a unique genomes, and their cultures and people have so many differences it is not quite fitting to lump all three groups as one.Eldari
The eldari were mainly made up of artisans and a few scientist when they left their home world. When building their society, everyone had to learn a bit of everything which carried on into later generations. Many Eldari spend their time learning a variesty of skills.Ability Score Increase
