Holtlynd Revolving Musket
In the low country of Holtlynd there are some of the finest manufacturers of firearms. While often unreliable and difficult to produce machines, the men of the northern low land found great use in them after figuring out ways to protect their black powder from their nation's constantly damp environment. This reliance and love of firearms lead to the eventual creation of their revolving flintlocks muskets.
It functions very effectively compared to most modern firearms. Its greatest strength however against any other firearm is the fact that it can fire multiple shots without needing to be reloaded and it can be loaded extremely quickly in comparison to other firearms. The average number of shots that can be fired before reloading is six though other variants of the musket exist with versions that can carry up to eight or ten shots.
Access & Availability
The methods used to create the rifles are a secret very closely guarded by the Holtlynd Royal Army. While almost anyone can be taught how to use it and the basic maintenance of the musket, its inner workings and how to make the firearm remains a mystery to all but the royal engineers and a few select gunsmiths that the state allows to produce for the general population. Attempts to actually reverse engineer the firearm has so far proved to be difficult and so far unsuccessful so far.
Discovery
It was invented by Dietrich de Gheyn, an engineering major who was attending the Sternlicht Colleges of Sciences and Engineering. He had apparently gone somewhat mad under the pressure of his professor's work who had been apparently given ridiculous timetables for his students. The professor would not live through the night.... as the inventor used the weapon to bash his professors head in. Three days later, while on the run to his homeland he finally figured out how is own invention worked.
He would spend most of his life in his homeland from then on using his designs to as leverage to retain his freedom. His revolving musket was one of the first designs that he showed off to the rest of his nation. It became a massively popular weapon in the nation.
