Dunehopper

"WOAH WHAT WAS THAT?!"
"Dunehopper."
"You know you can't just say that as if it explains everything, right?"
"Fine. Big, looks like a cat, jumps really far, doesn't care about people. That help?"
"Not especially."
"Now you know why I didn't bother explaining the first time."

Leaping across Lands

Found exclusively in the deserts of Kubicha, dunehoppers can be seen bounding across the tops of canyons and along canyon walls, as well as soaring from the top of dunes. Their furry legs are built for jumping and able to send them up to four meters into the air from a standstill, or even further across with a running start.
Despite the tremendous force their legs can exert, they rarely leave any footprints behind even after their strongest leaps as the thick fur that covers their footpads helps to obscure them. The same fur that hides their prints also protects them from the heat of the desert sand, as well as camouflaging them against the sand with its dusky brown tones.
Their large ears, able to move independently, give them an unerring ability to find their small, elusive prey, as well as hear other dunehoppers from almost half a mile away.

Snuggled in the Sands

When not hunting at night or in twilight hours, dunehoppers make themselves at home in caverns in the sides of the sandstone canyons peppered throughout the desert. These caverns provide them with both safety and a cool place to rest away from the harsh heat of the sun.
While dunehoppers aren't an uncommon sight, they aren't known for living in groups, though they don't fight over territory.
For a month out of each year, they search for a prospective mate using a short, sharp, almost bark-like noise. Three months after mating, the female gives birth to a little of two to three kittens who grow quickly, reaching adulthood in just over a year.

They mostly just avoid people, they have better things to do than socialize, but hey if you find one friendly enough, I'm sure they'll let you!
