Ardocyte

Ardocytes are bioluminescent microscopic fragments that embed themselves within a host's internal systems after exposure to Ardor radiation. They act as amplifiers for Caelus, allowing the user to conjure spells reliably and with varying degrees of potential. The first case of Ardocytes appearing within medical scans originally destroyed traditional medical equipment, and specialized gear had to be created to study humans after the introduction of Ardor radiation.   Ardocytes react brilliantly when exposed to certain frequencies, shining an ominous red. This can be used to measure how potent an individual is at a glance. Taking the appearance of crystalline structures that line the host's spine and brainstem, Ardocytes are a quantifiable means of measuring one's power and connection to Caelus.   One such prolific individual with a high Ardocyte count is none other than Vulpes, the term given to a homicidal maniac once rumored to serve for the Vinculum of Discovery.
