Lythril's Speech of Gratitude

We've all seen it, these ancient families slowly but steadily spread their roots and ensured that no new saplings might grow in their space. It is time for that to change, our traditions must change lest these things shall be repeated to no end. So from this day forward, the High Houses are no more.   Though many would speak ill of them, this was done in no small part by outsiders, by people who seek our aid in turn for theirs. They came to us now while their home lies in ruin and flames and found naught but plotting nobles and poisoned words. Yet through all this, they continued their search and in their path exacted deserved punishment. They struck down those of wicked intent and will now leave this city a better place.   As the queen of Niduin, I wish to thank them again and as a sign of our gratitude, please accept this reward.  

First, we were told that one of ours took one of yours, so let us provide a way for you to have them once again return. (25 000 gp worth of diamonds)

Second, I wish to grant you a piece of our past. Many elders here will disagree with this decision, but I feel it is time we moved beyond their concord. I wish to give you the Tome of Lost Knowledge. A powerful relic created by Theris Aurelian, the first oracle of their order, and with this we will behind us their rule over all magic in this city. For those of you that still worry, refrain for we will pass new laws to regulate its usage.

Third, I want to once again confirm that we will lend our aid to your mission in the north, where a fearsome dragon has devastated several towns and cities.

Now we must spend time to heal, to nurture what we've lost and let these saplings sprout and bloom their beautiful flowers. Slowly but surely, we will let those who have been trampled and pushed down into shadow to once again see the light and beauty of this city by the river of understanding.
