Hound's nose - 2
Value: 2 GP
(Permanent)
Your sense of smell is similar to that of a hound, or wolf.
You can track prey by scent, even if you are not a Naturemaster with the Tracker edge, you can use your Survival skill to track down prey or humans... even specific humans.
Furthermore, for all the skill rolls involving the Perception Attribute which involve the sense of smell, you consider your Perception to be 1D12, no matter what your actual Perception level is. This of course includes tracking, and reactively perceiving nearby humans or animals in the wilderness, just like an animal would, provided the wind is in your favor.
With a successful roll you can tell whether a person you are not able to see is man or woman, and with each raise gets you extra info, for example, if that person is feeling fearful, angry, stressed or aroused, what was his last meal, or even if she's pregnant, sick or wounded. If it's not a person, but a creature, a success will tell you whether the animal is a predator or herbivore, and a raise will tell you the exact species of animal you are dealing with, or other specifics, such as whether it's wounded, male or female, or pregnant.
The drawback of this mutation is that all places with pungent smells make you Distracted, by this we mean very strong smells, like the ones you may sense near a septic tank, a garbage landfill, an opened mass grave full of rotting corpses, a battleground the day after, or places with large quantities of chemicals such as ammonia, methane, chloride, alcohol, gasoline and such. The typical armpit scent of the average unwashed wastelander is not considered a distraction, that would be crippling.
