To non-Magicals, the odds are stacked against them and now they have to play the hand that was given to them. They face mighty enemies but they won't give up until the very end. Stories of those who have rose to fame are well known and told often. Personal success is idolized, everyone wants to become the next millionaire and get out of the streets on their own. These stories give them the false hope that, perhaps, they will be next on the line. Stress is their biggest burden, they live looking out for anyone who wants to take advantage of them. Maybe this the reason they celebrate martial arts so much: If it's the only method they have to defend themselves, you are damn right that they'll stick to it as much as they can.
