S01E10 - An Ode to Dust
General Summary
It is late evening when we rejoin our group of Heroes, calling themselves the Millennium Marvels. They have retreated to Seraphim Manor, their current headquarters. Alex, not coping well with recent events, starts to stress bake in the kitchen of the manor. The others find that Brick Wall is still missing. Uskir and Karl have a discussion regarding their missing teammate, even going so far as to check the news for any mention of him (as he was concerned about his public image, he was quite active on the social scene). They decide to get the nannycam from Karl's apartment and set it up so he can be watched. Whilst he's gone (a matter of a couple of minutes), Uskir checks Brick's room, discovering that the costume is still there. Jagger-Stein, Karl puts a tracker on his phone, which he links to Uskir's before going to bed.
At this time, Alex, realising that she's not helping the others, stops baking and joins Uskir in keeping an eye on Karl. After an hour or so, Djinn disappears in a swirling vortex of golden writing or hieroglyphs. Something is different when he arrives at his destination; he manages to throw off the control the summoner has over him. Managing to hide the fact that he is no longer controlled, Djinn continues on doing as he's told, all the while observing the robed and hooded figures. Whilst he's there, he does hear someone say 'Welcome to the Order of Dust'. Eventually, Djinn locates Brick Wall, standing guard outsider an ornate door. As he approaches, he reaches out and grabs him, teleporting away. Luckily for Djinn, Brick Wall's ability to resist the transportation isn't very good but, when they arrived at the manor, teleporting into the group's usual sitting room where Alex and Uskir were sat, watching the cam and trying to track Djinn's phone (with no success, Brick Wall's first action was to punch Djinn. Luckily for the latter, being particles of dust and sand meant that the attack didn't actually harm him. At that point, Uskir, using a commanding tone and words that Brick Wall, the soldier, would understand, managed to break the control the summoner had over him. He retreats upstairs to put on his uniform.
Meanwhile, in the basement of the manor, which is quickly turning into a workshop for the group's latest member, Crusader does some research on the batons and their availability. He discovers that they are available through carefully selected 'Fixers'; black market middle men who buy and sell anything, for the right price. He also learns that they are called Gravatonic Batons.
After that, he finishes off fixing the scanner used on the PRISM, discovering that the wavelengths used are extremely harmful and radioactive to Humans. HE advises the group on these findings.
The group reconvene in the now cleared up sitting room (one less antique table in the world) and discuss Janus , the PRISM and Brick Wall and Djinn create a replica of the symbol they saw in the caverns they were imprisoned in.
Alex decides to try to follow the money and materials again. She finds an address in the Hawking Science Park with all transfers approved by Silas Prescott. Karl looks for power drain or excessive demands on the city infrastructure and finds the same address Alex had located. Uskir checks police reports, trying to ascertain if there is an upswing in possible radiation sickness cases but gets nothing and Crusader finds a sale of one of Mercer Industries generators which appears to have been delivered to an address near Millennium City General Hospital and Campus, a place also found by Brick Wall as he spoke with the local homeless population. They confirm Crusader's finding but they describe it as weird #@!% happening.
