The Rotted Maiden

Neutral Evil   The Rotted Maiden is a young woman of average build wearing an opaque black veil and a bruise colored purple gown. Upon closer inspection the it can be noticed that she has skeletal feet and that the bones in her hands are visible in some places where some form of disease has caused the skin to slough of or split open. Her movements are deliberate and unnaturally stiff. When she speaks her voice is uncomfortably dry and raspy occasionally punctuated with a papery sounding cough. It is rumored that her touch is feverishly hot.   She presides over disease, deaths caused by disease, and undeath. She is particularly fond of uncurbable wasting diseases both physical and mental or those caused by prolonged exposure to toxic substances.    She rules over the Rotten Ilse from her Church on Fever Rock. While it would be expected her church would be an imposing massive cathedral or crumbling sunken tomb it is merely a simple if large traditional single steepled church made of greying aged wood. Outside the door is a gnarled grey green tree with wilted looking leaves the entire entry would seem drab if no for the myriad of tiny blood red tear shaped blossoms that cover the branches of the tree. It is said that each one represents a follower of the Maiden.   She has a cold professional rivalry with the Harvest King as their areas of concern often intersect and their is no love lost between the two. Her greatest hatred is for Skrid as she finds his ideals and motivations are not only directly opposed to hers but also openly confrontational. She finds Skrid's ideals of self preservation at all cost often take his followers or potential followers to extreme measures in the sake of protecting themselves or their loved ones from her diseases and the most aggravating part is that sometimes these measures work and when they do the knowledge of how may be passed to others.
