WorldEmber Pledge 2025

This has certainly been one hell of a year. The challenges I've been facing, which are far from resolved today, are perhaps the greatest I've encountered to date. I'd love to be positive, but I'm not sure I have that much hope in me these days. That said, one thing I've been told is very important is to make plans and set goals even if in the moment they seem unachievable if for no better reason than to give yourself something to keep striving for. Well, here I go. I'm pledging to write 10k words in December for New Dark AGE. I'd originally planned to do a lot of worldbuilding for NDA back at the beginning of this year with aims to get the first bits into production for release next year. I've done almost none of it. So here's me saying I'm going to get a job, I'm not going to lose my home, and I am going to have the time and drive to do it all next month.

WE25 Scope of Worldbuilding

The worldbuilding I'm seeking to complete this December will be limited to the city of San Gabriel, its supernatural and mundane population, its factions and conflicts, and its geography. Specifically, I will aim to describe San Gabriel as it was between 1985 and 2015 as that 30 year window is the official setting I'm wanting to include in my AGE supplement. I am placing this limitation because in the past I've veered toward developing an entire world which creates an endless cycle of worldbuilding with no clear direction. This is even evident in the entries I've already worked on here which reach well beyond the city and date range above. I may not entirely go back and revise the existing work I've done, but nothing outside that scope is set it stone and may well be adjusted after my WE work is in revisions.
