Xieolo Clan
The Xieolo Clan is the legendary origin point of all subsequent clans of the native Polarians, and is considered the ancestors of all Polarian life for the past thousand years. Little is known about the Xieolo Clan, or how the native Polarians descended into their current clan status. History points to their involvement in a dark era of time, when the first discovery of sacred magic somehow destroyed the Xieolo Clan, wiping them out of existence by voluntary dissolvement of the clan structure.
History
Polarian records indicate that it was the Xieolo Clan that got involved in the forbidden magic of soulfront runes back in 1107 for the first time, installing these runes on young innocent children to fight an opposition of mages gaining power from similar runes. Xieolo barely survived their few months of skirmishes against their enemies, and paid the terrible price of harm being brought to those who bared the mark of soulfront runes used in the war. The children all involved in the sacred runes of the gods lost all memory of who they were, a phenomena that stretched to all who were supposed to know the same children. As a result, tragedy and loss befell countless innocent lives of history, destined to be unrecorded and lost to time forever. Somehow, the Xieolo clan discovered partial consequences of their own crimes against humanity, and dissolved themselves from power, most leaving behind the country of their own origin to live in other areas.
This story marks the primal beginning of the legend of the fogotten children. However, some data surrounding this legend is paradoxical in nature, such as the method in which the sacred tomes made to record such information, when it was said to have been forgotten in the first place.
Disbandment
When the Xieolo Clan disbanded in 1107, many years passed before any new clans were created from its figurative ashes. These new clans were always small, isolated to southern areas of the forests of Polarium, and maintained in traditional, tiny, primitive villages. After the incident, the Polarium Veil , which only existed from a collection of projection crystals seemed to shut down, preventing all access to most magical phenomena. Transcribers of the past moved in to study the nature of ancient magic and the shady history related to the Xieolo Clan, discovering that magic is still possible to execute in Polarium if used only by those marked with Soulfront Runes. However, the leaders of the subsequent clans recognized the danger of such knowledge and power. They ran off most of these transcribers, claiming they were digging up parts of the past too dangerous for men to bear.
From this defense, the rank of Elder Chief was born for the clans, tasking them with learning limited knowledge of the now forbidden Soulfront Rune system, in order to prevent resurrection of their powers ever again in Polarium. As a result, some of the clans grew larger and more popular, as did the ritualistic nature of the study of magic, and its connected link to noble warriors in defense of the villages. Magic was only to be studied and recognized, never practiced. Over millenniums, renewed interest was restored in magical spells related only for defense or assistance. Since the veil was inactive, much of this knowledge became revived from information passed down from welcomed outsiders of the nation of Polarium, information that came indirectly from the life style of wielders living in Sprawn Valley.
After The Burst, which reactivated the Polarium Veil, the shared knowledge has reminded everybody in all clans about the defensive and offensive nature of "Leray Magic," as well as the forbidden spell system of the Soulfront Runes. Despite classifying these runes as forbidden, rumors float about that certain clans are authorizing the use of these special runes under strict oversight, in order to survive the incoming carnage of Terracom's aggression.
