Nihilego Poisoning

A form of poisoning brought about by the Ultra Beast known as Nihilego feeding on a host body. There is a lack of data on this sickness, due to cases ranging from hosts going missing, to becoming devoured, going mad, or causing mass Faller events.

Transmission & Vectors

When a Nihilego feeds, it uses its stingers to seep poison into the body of the host to consume them with effacy and efficiency. Can be manifested artificially (see: Frank.

Causes

If the host survives being fed on, the poison can still linger within their body for any mount of time afterward. Artificial infliction can extend this duration, at the cost of physical dehabilitation. Exposure to Ultra Space may potentially influence symptoms.

Symptoms

General Affliction:
  • Increased physical and mental acuity
  • Neurological decay
Natural Affliction: Reported to feel similar to zombie who needed to be eaten to be satiated.
  • Extreme urges to seek out Ultra Beasts (Nihilego-dominant)
  • Elopement / Tendency to run away
Can be mistaken for many types of mental illnesses, i.e.:
  • Sociopathy and Psychopathy
  • OCD
  • Narcissism
  • Hyperfixation
  • ADHD
  • Multiple Personality Disorder
  • BPD
  • Paranoia
  • Acute Agoraphobia (rare cases)
      Artificial Infliction:
  • Extreme hatred of Ultra Beasts (larger datapool needed on subject.)

Treatment

No known treatment recorded.

Prognosis

Over time, symptoms worsen. During the feeding, mania is commonly seen in the host.

Sequela

More data required.

Affected Groups

Any individual can contract this sickness, so long as they come into contact with a Nihilego long enough for it to feed.

Hosts & Carriers

Nihilego (source), Fallers, Ultra Beasts

Prevention

Avoid both alive Nihilego and any corpses of Nihilgo. Their toxins are very potent long after their life expires.

Epidemiology

See: The Blinding.

History

More data required. Less than 50 cases have been successfully logged.

More data required. Aggressive carriers are prone to lashing out even in peaceful moments.
