Janniral of Westdeep
Janniral Ungoliath (a.k.a. Plantboy)
Backstory
Legends in the Elsir Vale speak of the Ungoliath Roots, an ancient tangle of forest so dense and enchanted that even maps refuse to draw it. Deep beneath that gnarled canopy, where the veil between the Feywild and the mortal realm thinned, Janniral Ungoliath emerged—not born, but summoned by nature’s desperation.
The name “Ungoliath” was not given. It was earned through action: he once stopped a corrupted gargantuan spider that was sowing discord in parts of Westdeep with nothing but his spirit bear’s roar and a word of primal authority, shaking the vale to its roots. Locals began to whisper it in reverent tones, and the name stuck like moss to stone.
Grunthal, his massive spectral companion, is said to be the echo of a guardian spirit slain during the fall of Rhest. Now reborn beside Janniral, the bear is a living memory of nature’s resilience. Together, they walk the Vale, sowing healing where it’s needed and judgment where it’s deserved.

A shadow grows in the heart of the Thornwaste. Janniral feels it pulsing through the earth like a second heartbeat, a primal force waking with fury. He now seeks to gather allies—creatures who know not only the sword but also the voice of the wild—before that heartbeat becomes a roar.
