The Preservers

The Preservers are a small and mysterious, but benevolent and incredibly ancient organization. They are tied to a mysterious extraplanar fortress called The Eternal Citadel. Preservers dedicate their lives to protecting the innocent and uphold just societies, and those lives tend to be long indeed. The longest-serving and most dedicated preservers become Statuesque, a kind of ageless living statue person. Slain preservers gradually turn to stone and reappear in small shrines in remote locations, and can be called upon from those places.   Associated Creatures:

Public Agenda

Preserve just societies and protect the innocent.   On a practical level, the preservers are very pro-civilization and believe sapients are better off in a society than alone. In the eyes of the Preservers, larger societies, if they can be kept from becoming corrupt or stultified, better than small ones. The diversity in experiences, capabilities, and skill sets they bring is of benefit to the whole. There's very little patience for callous bureaucracy and tyranny, though; despite their extremely long view of the world, Preservers are generally idealistic in their outlook.
