History Before Championhood

Youth in Bhrytyros (472–490 PR)

Maelgor was born in the Bhrytyros Empire, a land steeped in decadence and violence. Unlike most of his kin, who became gladiators or legion brutes, Maelgor was drawn to the mysteries of dream-visions and songs carried on the wind. His tribe mocked him for walking with a staff instead of an axe, for painting symbols on cave walls instead of training for the pits.

But even as a calf, he foresaw storms before they came, saw enemies in the dark before they struck. Some whispered he had been touched by a god, others that madness festered in him. When the Empire fell deeper into corruption and endless wars, Maelgor was forced into service as a war-priest, where he used his foresight to guide Bhrytyran generals.

The Breaking (490–520 PR)

At the height of his service, Maelgor fell in love with a mortal priestess of Leira. Together they dreamed of escaping the Empire’s cruelty. But during a purge, she was executed for heresy, and Maelgor was forced to watch her burned alive. Something shattered in him that day. He began to hear voices in the cracks of silence, see eyes in every shadow.

The Bhrytyran commanders branded him mad and cast him into the labyrinth dungeons beneath the city. There, his visions grew sharper, showing him horrors beyond mortal comprehension: endless wastelands of teal, skies bleeding with eyes, a hand that stretched across eternity.

Becoming Geardaz’s Champion (520 PR)

The walls of his dungeon split with teal lightning. Crystals grew from the stone, and the voices he had heard all his life spoke as one: Geardaz had chosen him.

Maelgor stumbled into the Teal Wastelands, where he was hunted by aberrant horrors and fractured illusions. Instead of fleeing, he embraced them, speaking back to the whispers, learning their harmonies. When a tide of mind-flayers sought to consume him, Maelgor turned their psychic screams into a song of dissonance that shattered their skulls.

Geardaz appeared in the storm of eyes and lightning, and named him the Fractured Seer, Champion of the God Hand of Trickery and Aberration.

Now – Servant of Geardaz and the God Hands

Maelgor Veyrnos serves as Geardaz’s prophet and war-bard. His role among the champions is unique: not brute strength like Ivar or Draegor, but the spreading of visions that warp reality and faith.

• His Staff: The Shard of Discord, a crystal-tipped spear that channels psychic resonance, piercing both flesh and mind.
• His Power: His voice can sow madness in armies, cause soldiers to see allies as enemies, or trap foes in illusions of their worst fears.
• His Cult: He leads sects of seers and dream-singers across Bhrytyros ruins, teaching them to embrace discord as truth.

Maelgor is feared not for slaughter, but because those who hear his chants rarely return whole.

Connection to the Present

In the God Hands’ ranks, Maelgor has glimpsed Kasien Ash-Fall, and sees in him the shadow of his lost love. To Geardaz, this is perfect — for it keeps the Seer forever torn between devotion to his god and the echoes of a heart that once sought harmony.
