Spellplague

Disaster / Destruction

The Spellplague, this was an event that happened after Earthfall. It caused the unstable use of magic, causing absolute destruction and disaster across the planet. Arcane forces shut down and unleashed the raw magic contained within creating the cataclysm that was known as the Spellplague.   It manifested as a storm of purple flames that quickly grew to a massive size, burning the lands throughout and causing magic to rise as wild magic. It infected magical portals, planar gates, their was no escape for the world, it was even said to have created the first death of the universe but something changed.   The Spellplague affected the landscape, making the ground rumble and heave up and down like the surface of the sea. Curtains of purple flame swept the landscape, reshaping the land by cutting crevasses or lifting and sculpting the plain into hills and ridges. Shards of earth wrenched themselves free and became earthmotes and many different places within the planes began to be affected from the Sea of Shadow to the Plane of Sky, with perhaps the creations of new ones.
