The Planarists

The Planarists are basically anti-prime crusaders, seeing quite nearly anything from the prime material planes as a contagion, a plague upon the planes to be wiped out. After all, what right do the primes have to visit the homes of the gods? Why put up with the questions of Clueless one second longer? While others in Sigil undoubtedly agree with their assessment, at the same time their general bigotry has kept them from being little more than a sect. A number of strikes done against “prime puppets” like the Harmonium have only proven to be their undoing, as the return blows from the larger factions have nearly broken them apart entirely.   Their original leader, a eladrin by the name of Cirily, originally advocated the Planarists as a faction. However Cirily disappeared forcing the fledgling sect to reconsider its options. Nowadays, they hold Cirily up as a martyr, claiming to be a “concerned group of citizens simply policing our fine planar ’burg”. Despite their fringe status (even for a sect) they have been able to at least recruit with stirring speeches holding up Factol Darkwood, a prime, as the cause of the Kriegstanz. Though few support them openly, the quiet support they have received in Sigil has been disturbing to the more level-headed.

Sect Philosophy

The Outlands and Outer Planes belong to the Planars, not the Primes. The Primes have their own material plane, why the need to take over or intrude on another's? The Planarists are bigoted against beings from the Prime Material Plane polluting the purity of the Outer Planes and the Outlands. It's not just the physical bodies, but even their ideas on society and culture. Others are resentful of the Primes who interfere with their summoning spells that entrap "innocent" Planars ans wisk them away at a moment's notice to perform some menial or arduous task against a Planar's desires.

Primary Plane of Influence

The Planarists can be found throughout the Outer Planes and the Outlands, while the Sect was founded in Sigil itself.

Allies and Enemies

The Planarists are relatively new, so they presently do not have any allies or enemies at political level, but the views they have are echoed by many residents of the Outlands.

Eligibility

The only pre-requisite for members of The Planarists is that they have to have been born somewhere on the Outer Planes or the Outlands, and not on the Prime Material Plane.

Benefits

The Planarists' movement may be relatively-new, but the ideaology they have has been one that is secretly-echoed by many residents of the Outlands and the Outer Planes for centuries. Members tend to be treated well by establishment owners with similar views, often granting planarists a 10% discount on wares an services.

Restrictions

The Planarist has a hard time dealing with Primes, and such suffers a -6 penalty on charisma skill checks with them. In addition, while the Planarist may find those with similar views, others are not sympathetic with their cause and may inflate prices, usually at a non-negotiable rate of 5%, if their allegiance is made known.
