They stand at the back of armies, mixed in with the archers. Standing behind their pavice throwing out Fire , their attacks outpacing the archer compatriots. Archers only major strength more able at dealing with armor. These archers double as a last ditch fighter to keep bodies in front of the mages. When they are forced into hand to hand combat, they will fight hand weapons. Weaving Fire spells to hold onto for later, with generous use of Lightning .

The legendary formation, that has always been around, and is used by every nation extensively. They are the most valuable power house in every army. It is common to sacrifice the front line so the mages can escape.
