The Orb

Lost somewhere far out in the ocean.

2 separate ships have reported finding the orb. The first sighting was 50 years ago when a small merchant vessel was hit by a storm and went far off course, they sighted the orb and not knowing what it was tried to get help. As they grew closer they saw that the Orb was actually bending the water to form a crater in the ocean underneath it without touching the water. The crew could not find a way on or inside the sphere so they ventured away and found help, they couldn't lead any other ships to it in the years proceeding.   The second sighting was just 10 years ago when a crew of explorers went out looking for the orb. a massive storm hit them and blow them off course leading them to the sphere. The crew excitedly sped toward it but were unable to find a way in or on the orb as it floated above the sea without making contact. However they had prepared for this and brought a gifted mage with them. The mage using fly investigated the orb closely noting the blindly shiny white metal and that there were no signs of dents, lines or holes. The mage wanted to see how the sphere would react to outside energy and cast a bolt of electricity at it. The orb almost instantaneously blasted a massive wave of energy in all directions, instantly killing the mage and almost ripped the ship apart. The wave continued in all directions even reaching land but was far weaker than before. The wave was proceed by heavy storms that lasted 10 days with extreme amounts of lighting. After it had subsided the ship from the extradition was found heavily damaged and adrift. a third of its crew had been killed and the survivors were all wounded.

People travel far and wide to seek out the orb but none have actually managed to find where it is.
