Skytar

General

Skytars are small scavenger rodents that hunt in packs. They are most known for their double jointed legs with skin flaps on the top pair that they can use to glide and temporarily take take flight. This, combined with their lower jaw, which has split and moved to their hands, makes them great at swiftly taking chunks of meat from other creature’s kills.   Skytars can be found on a distant planet where they thrive around the edges of forests, using the height of the trees to search for kills and glide down to open fields to take it.

Appearance

Skytars are rodents, their fur is a deep blue. While they are small in comparison to other creatures on their planet, they are large for rodents, reaching the body size of domestic cats. Their jaw is missing and instead has split and moved to the end of each of their arms. A Skytar's legs are incredibly long, double the length of their bodies and have 2 sets of knees, one bending forwards and the other bending backwards. The top set has vibrant orange skin flaps stretched that they use as wings when they tuck their feet in.
