PHIL

General

  P.H.I.L, standing for Parts Holding Intelligent Laborer, is on of many droids built for mass production of parts and exploration. All PHILs share the same basic ability of taking basic materials and converting them into useful tools. The orignal batch of these robots were used to explore unknown terrain deep below ground. The plans of sending PHILs down into the depths for research was shut down years ago due to several problems such as freaquent cave ins & loss of droids meant costs became too high. The remaining PHILs were either destroyed or decommitioned and the factory was shut down.   This particular PHIL was different however, built with a programming oversight that appeared to give it some kind of sentience that allowed it to abandon its tasks and write its own protocalls to follow. The engineers saw this as a defect and so kept him locked away in a supply room where he was never sent on missions. After the project was shut down and PHILs were being terminated, this rogue unit was forgotten about and was left abandoned in the factory. After many years of collecting dust on a shelf, a chance lightning strike and some loose cables caused a surge of enrgy and reawakened PHIL. With his new found power, he set about escaping the factory, and finding a new life for himself.  

Appearance

All PHILs have the same body type; a large box shaped body with a metal sliding door on the front. their head is a smaller box with a dark screen face and 2 bright blue dots for eyes. By default PHILs do not have arms, but have the space for them when they collect parts for tools next to their heads. PHILs' have short telescopic legs with no knees and large feet to suport themselves. While each droid's inner workings are metal, the outer parts are coated in a dull cream colour.
