Pretend Planets

Basic Information

Anatomy

At the center of every planet is a crystalline core consisting of super-dense neural crystals, through which electromagnetic pulses ripple through a semi-organic mantle composed of geo-biological tissue. The outer crust serves as a protective skin. The crust is made of a mixture of molten rock and covered in veins of bio-mineral compounds that transfer nutrients, energy and information across the planetary body.

Genetics and Reproduction

Planets reproduce asexually through a seeding process:
  1. The crystalline core of a mature planet fractures into "seeds" which are ejected into space to travel for millennia until they collide with masses of cosmic material, like asteroids or young planets.
  2. Over eons, the seed core integrates with the material, forming a new pretend planet.
  3. At the early-stage, they are barren; with minimal ecosystems, and require millions of years to mature.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Planets sustain themselves by absorbing energy from:
  1. Stellar Radiation through their surface, with large desert regions acting as natural absorption areas.
  2. Tidal Forces through the gravitational interactions with moons or nearby celestial bodies. Constellations of pretend planets share energy across vast distances.
  3. Geothermal Processes from their internal geochemical reactions and providing heat energy for internal systems.

Symbiotic and Parasitic organisms

Crystalline Parasites

Zeppsas are formed from the mutated cores of pretend planets; gaining a sentience all their own. Effectively, they are cancerous tumors that feed off the body's silica until it grows into a huge computer-like brain called an Epsage.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

    Worldender

Planets' surface is an intricately balanced ecosystem that functions as part of its body.   Every plant, animal and microbe on the planet plays a role in maintaining its health:
  1. Forests act as lungs; processing gases and balancing the planetary atmosphere.
  2. Rivers and oceans function as circulatory
  3. systems that distribute nutrients and energy across the surface.
  4. Predators and prey contribute to a planetary immune system.
