Azure

In the daytime, when the sky is mostly clear, Azure is one of the most gorgeous planets in Pavo Dioscuri. Lush, emerald islands are ringed by silver beaches and are set within a deep sapphire blue sea. The clouds on the horizons are white, gray, and amethyst purple. The sun is a luminous white pearl in a turquoise sky. These moments are rare, however. The sky of Azure is rarely clear for long.

Azure is home to some of the stormiest weather in the known worlds. Depending on the season, a given island may experience several strong thunderstorms a day. Hurricanes and typhoons are common in most places.

Azure is also home to the Blue-Dragon Tribes. By necessity, the humans of Azure learned long ago how to live with and aid the blue dragons seemingly native to this world. In exchange, the dragons fend off the worst storms or transport their followers to safer shores. The leaders of these tribes are the Storm Riders, sorcerous humans that accompany their dragons in quelling dangerous weather or fighting other tribes.

Conflict is frequent between tribes as they struggle for resources and limited space on temporarily safe islands. Storm Riders typically lead raids on enemy tribes or provide support when their dragon faces an enemy dragon and its rider.

As wind and lightning are the most destructive things experienced by the islanders of Azure, this is reflected in their magic. No one can wield a lightning bolt more precisely than an Azurian, nor can anyone else erect a stronger wind wall.
