Sweet Pea

Sweet Pea was once a young fox squirrel living with a forgotten goddess on the plane of Limbo. Upon a chance meeting with Zakina Kociak, he was unintentionally whisked away before her and her companions assassinated Asmodeus and departed for the Far Realms. With a touch of Iolond's divinity, Sweet Pea was bonded to Zakina as a familiar. He gained an increased intelligence, and because of his proximity to so many mythic and divine beings, he developed his own special abilities.   Much like Zakina, he exhibits psionic powers. He can project a bubble of psychic force to shield allies from mental intrusion and mind-affecting magic. The shield breaks with a crystal-clear chime when struck, disorienting enemies. He can also unleash a bolt of psychic energy that causes brief vertigo and visual distortions, making enemies falter mid-attack. Lastly, Sweet Pea can become a living shadow, allowing him to move through obstacles and hide effortlessly. In this state, he's incorporeal and unable to interact with the world physically until he's corporeal once more.   Rarely, Sweet Pea can teleport through shadows in the blink of an eye. This ability is unpredictable and taxing and can only move him across short distances. Occasionally, his teleporting misfires and drops him slightly off-target. It once trapped him inside the pantry, a time that he doesn't like to be reminded of.   Even after a trip to a forbidden plane of existence, Sweet Pea retains the appearance of a soft squirrel. He's much plumper than his kin, something he's sensitive about despite everyone's insistence that it makes him cuter than any other squirrel. The Far Realms' influence on him causes him to age incredibly slowly, and other times, he doesn't age at all. When using his abilities, his eyes have a faint, lavender glow. He wears a large, silky, pink ribbon around his neck.   Sweet Pea is curious, sweet, and sociable, but also a touch dramatic. He communicates through exaggerated body language and chittering sounds, as well as barks of disapproval. Despite his intelligence, Sweet Pea can't freely communicate with humanoid beings, but he can speak with other sapient animals. It makes him feel isolated and oftentimes lonely. He had a close friendship with Industria Cellini's horse, Arnor, as well as the Dandy Lion. He misses them both dearly, though Zakina and Rikius's children keep him company.   He loves lounging by the pool during the day and is fond of fruit tarts, tea rituals, and people fawning over him. Hugs and kisses are appreciated, but he dislikes being squeezed like a helpless stuffed animal.
